“Part of what makes music by The Points North so captivating is its haunting combination of minimalism and beautiful layering. This trio knows how to choose its instruments for maximum effect—and that includes the voices of Chris Alspach and Regina Peterson.  —Ryan’s Smashing Life, 9/30/2009 :: more

“We Have Opened Up” as a sing-along love letter to the folks walking the cobblestones and the blanketing snows that come between them. Singer-songwriter Christopher North Alspach, channeling an at-ease Michael Stipe over traditional Celtic folk harmonies, finds endearment in our “crooked city streets” and old-timers with “rivets for hearts” even as Regina Peterson’s floating flute acts as a directional guide to the nearest corner tavern. As Boston’s cold settles in, “We Have Opened Up” provides some inner warmth.”  :: LINKS
